Decks were cleared for dedication of his life to the medical profession when he secured top third position in the whole of Punjab in matriculation. After completing pre-medical, he won scholarship of the government of former Soviet Union and proceeded to Moscow for higher studies. He did his graduation (M.D.) and post-graduation degree in Medicine (P.G.S. ) from internationally renowned Peoples’ Friendship University, Moscow. There-after, he completed his Ph.D. Degree in Cardiology from world-famous Bakulev Institute of Cardio-Vascular Surgery (Moscow) under USSR Academy of Medical Sciences. He had the privilege to present two papers (related to his Ph.D. thesis) in the “World Congress on Coronary Artery Disease” held in Bombay (February 1990).

On returning home, he worked as Senior Research Associate in the department of cardiology, P.G.I. Chandigarh for three years. There-after he started and successfully managed for twenty years his own nursing home at Nawanshahar. He also has almost one year experience of work as medical specialist in ECHS Polyclinic at Nawanshahar. He had the honour of being selected by the government of Libya for working as medical specialist in one of their hospitals.

With this rich clinical experience of above three decades on his back, he is now working in Capitol Hospital, Jalandhar. The department of Medicine is playing  a pivotal role in this hospital. They encounter and treat the main bulk of patients in OPD and Emergency. They coordinate with other departments and involve their specialists, whenever needed, for holistic approach in the treatment. They also render their services to patients lying in different departments looking after their medical illnesses. His motto is to treat the ailing human beings with knowledge, dedication and personalised care.
